| Notes |
| Musical talent runs in Costanza s family. He is the nephew of legendary Pittsburgh jazzman Johnny Costa, who served as musical director of the PBS program, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. "My dad is a music teacher and saxophonist, says Kim, and he often performed with my uncle. Together they were the strongest musical influence of my life. Stan Goetz was another early influence." Having talented and connected relatives doesn t mean that the going will be smooth or that doors will open easily, and it wasn t always an easy road for Kim. A club musician who played sax and bass guitar, he experienced a radical conversion to Christianity in 1984. He didn t play again publicly for five years. When it became apparent to Kim that the Lord was calling him to use his talents to serve Him, Costanza picked up his saxophone and began to minister in local churches. Eventually, Ed Clydesdale became aware of the gifted young man from Southwestern Pennsylvania, and in short order Kim was signed by Clydesdale and Associates. His first effort, Evening Praise, was released in 1994. Hoping to break even by selling 5,000 copies, Costanza and his label watched in astonishment as the album received critical acclaim and sold 55,000 units. Kim has toured Seoul, South Korea to share his special musical message, and he has appeared in concert with contemporary Christian musicians Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, and Ron Kenoly. Silent Night Christmas Time/ Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Gesu Bambino O Come, O Come, Emmanuel/What Child Is This?
